The Opportunity

indieDwell is expanding its national footprint to bring inspired homes to individuals and families across the country. We are hiring a HR Director to oversee all HR aspects of the factory and will report to the General Manager. The HR Director will oversee the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, performance and talent management, productivity, recognition and morale, and training and development.

General Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Leadership: Promote an environment that represents our core values, purpose, mission, vision and culture.

Recruiting: Recruit, interview, hire, and onboard for all factory positions. Collaborate with senior leadership to understand the organization's goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.

Payroll & Compensation: Confirm worked hours, compute wages and taxes and process payroll based on the company payroll schedule. Process and oversee workers compensation and unemployment claims. Provide local expertise on competitive compensation and benefit packages and make recommendations on such packages.

Benefits: Ensure all employees are aware and using all offered benefits; serve as point of contact for benefit plan reviews and questions with our national broker.

Training: Ensure all employees are properly trained, have the tools and resources necessary to be successful and have a path for professional development opportunities.

Performance Evaluation: Administer annual reviews, “30-day conversations,” and performance improvement plans and disciplinary actions as needed.

Policies and Procedures: Ensure policy and procedures manual is up to date with corporate and local policies and is accessible to aid in answering employee questions.Monitor and ensure the organization's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Recommend best practices; review and modify policies and practices to maintain compliance.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of comparable experience

  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field desired

  • Experience within a production environment

  • Proven leadership and people management experience

  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain a positive, productive, and problem-solving environment
